Clinic is a multi-specialty practice with approximately 100 Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers located just off I-40/I-85. Burlington is accessible as a day trip to NC mountains and beaches. Ample recreational activities, shopping, and easy access to metros (Greensboro, Raleigh and Durham) are unique to Burlington.
We are currently looking for a patient-focused individual to fill a RN Clinical Provider Support position within our Cardiology Department. Two or more years of RN experience in an ambulatory or specialty care setting is preferred. Previous experience in Cardiology/Internal Medicine a plus. Proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic health record (EHR) preferred.
Job Type: Full-time - 38+ hours a week, Monday through Friday
Required Competencies/Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program
Current RN license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA. ACLS preferred
Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
Duties Include,
but not limited to the following:
Provide clinical support to Cardiology providers during daily clinic operations
Assist with patient assessments, histories, vital signs, and clinical documentation as needed.
Coordinate patient care activities including:
Diagnostic testing
Procedure scheduling
Hospital follow-up coordination
Medication Management
Prior authorizations
Referral coordination
Review patient charts to ensure appropriate documentation, orders, and follow-up care are completed
Assist with management of patient messages, clinical calls, and provider task baskets
Support medication refill processes per protocol and provider direction
Educate patients regarding:
Cardiac conditions
Medications
Procedures
Lifestyle modifications
Treatment plans
Assist with in-office procedures and clinical workflows as applicable
Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to improve workflow efficiency and patient throughput
Monitor and assist with quality initiatives, compliance measures, and patient care standards
Serve as a clinical resource and timely documentation in the EMR (electronic medical record)
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection prevention, and organizational policies and procedures
