About the company:

Our client is a privately held forestry and manufacturing company with operations in Chilliwack, British Columbia. It operates a sawmill/wood processing facility that produces and handles lumber and related wood products, serving customers across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico.

Responsibilities

- Set up, operate, and monitor industrial moulding machinery to produce components in accordance with schematics and production specifications
- Perform knife changes, machine setups, and precision adjustments to optimize performance and output quality
- Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to quality standards
- Troubleshoot mechanical, tooling, and material issues to minimize downtime and maintain production flow
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure safe and efficient machine operation
- Accurately document production data, including machine settings, measurements, quality checks, and downtime
- Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe, compliant work environment
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and leadership teams to improve processes and operational efficiency
- Train and mentor junior operators, sharing best practices and supporting skill development across the team




- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in workflow, quality, and machine utilization

Qualifications

- Proven experience operating moulding machinery in a sawmill or woodworking environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, profiles, and technical drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production setting
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Strong understanding of safety standards and best practices in manufacturing environments
- Effective communication and teamwork skills

Assets:

- Experience operating Weinig and/or Leadermac moulding machines is preferred
- Machinist experience, including CNC operation, tooling setup, and fabrication
- Experience training, mentoring, or coaching team members
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and support team performance
