Senior P&C; Commissioning Engineer Contract Length: 1 year high chance of extension Raise is hiring a Senior P&C; Commissioning Engineer on behalf of our client. Our Client, is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. Senior P&C; Commissioning Engineer in this role will be part of the Transmission Stations team.

This role provides critical commissioning acceptance services and advanced-level technical support for Protection and Control (P&C;) systems across the transmission network (12kV to 500kV). You will act as a subject matter expert, supporting project teams, field technologists, and real-time operations while collaborating across multiple internal business units.

Commissioning & Acceptance: Deliver expert-level commissioning acceptance services for P&C; equipment in Transmission and Distribution substations ranging from 12kV to 500kV. Author, review, accept, and seal comprehensive P&C; commissioning documentation, standards, and maintenance modifications.

Technical Support & Investigations: Investigate, analyze, and recommend corrective actions for abnormal system conditions, major system disturbances, and complex technical issues encountered by CPC field technologists.

Operational & Planning Support: Conduct technical studies, formulate operating strategies, and prepare contingency plans and short-term operating procedures to support real-time power system operations. Partner with Integrated Planning, Grid Operations, Field Operations, Generation, Distribution, and Asset Management business units,



and participate in multi-disciplinary internal committees. A minimum of 10 years of total experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.

A minimum of 4 years of specialized P&C; commissioning experience.

Intermediate

English language proficiency for a skilled environment (written and spoken).

Technical

Skills & Knowledge In-depth practical and theoretical knowledge of transmission system protection and control, power system parameters, and fault analysis. Proven expertise in P&C; testing and commissioning best practices, with hands‑on experience working in active field and substation environments. Demonstrated capability in providing subject matter expertise to project teams and supporting field technologists with technical issues and relay spares.

Exceptional technical writing, documentation review, and presentation skills. Ability and willingness to travel regularly to construction and substation sites across the province. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a closely related engineering discipline/sciences) Field and office environments across BC (Travel to construction sites required) Every contractor must supply their own Windows 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
