SUMMARY: The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting embedded hardware and firmware for connected electromechanical products. This role is responsible for mixed-signal circuit design, embedded firmware development in C, wireless connectivity integration (including BLE and LoRaWAN), and low‑power system architecture. Working closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing partners, and regulatory bodies, the Senior Electrical Engineer ensures designs are production‑ready, compliant, and scalable from prototype through mass production while supporting customer requirements, certification efforts, and field issue resolution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design mixed signal embedded hardware for battery powered and line powered electromechanical products including sensing, motor control, and communications subsystems.
Develop and debug embedded firmware in C for microcontroller-based systems supporting BLE, LoRaWAN, and other low power wireless platforms.
Architect low power system designs optimized for multi-year battery life in connected sensing and dispensing applications.
Support RF layout and antenna integration for embedded wireless devices, including BLE and LoRaWAN. Antenna tuning experience is a strong asset.
Translate customer requirements into production ready electrical architectures suitable for high volume deployment in commercial environments such as healthcare, facilities infrastructure, and pest monitoring systems.
Perform schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, and board bring up, including validation testing and root cause troubleshooting.
Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams on electromechanical integration including motors, pumps, sensors, housings, and environmental constraints.
Support product certification activities including FCC, CE,
IC, UL, and other regulatory requirements for connected electronic devices.
Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure designs meet cost, reliability, and scalability targets using DFM and DFA principles.
Contribute to system level connectivity architecture including gateway integration, cloud interfaces, and mobile application interaction through defined APIs.
Support transition from prototype to production, including validation builds, pilot runs, and engineering change implementation.
Participate in customer technical discussions and provide engineering leadership during requirements definition, design reviews, and field issue resolution.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field. Greater than 5 years of experience in electronic design.
Experience in Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
Experience designing products using C for Embedded, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), LTE-Cat-M1/NB-Iot, WiFi products
Programing experience using Bare Metal, Python, IoT security, MQTT, HTTP
Experience in designing high-volume, cost-sensitive commercial products
