About the Role

We’re partnering with a respected Fire Engineering consultancy that’s growing its team in Vancouver. They are seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with solid code consulting experience, the ability to lead projects, and the confidence to serve as a technical resource for clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead fire protection and life safety projects from concept to completion

- Conduct building code consulting, alternative solutions, and performance-based design

- Prepare technical reports, analyses, fire modelling, and code strategies

- Coordinate with architects, engineers, developers, and authorities having jurisdiction

- Provide mentorship and technical oversight to junior fire engineers

- Represent the consultancy in meetings, presentations, and client discussions





- Ensure compliance with provincial building and fire codes, national codes, and relevant standards

- Support internal quality reviews and best practices across the Vancouver team

What You Bring:

- PEng (Professional Engineer) designation in British Columbia (required)

- Certified Professional (CP) designation is an asset

- 7–20+ years of fire protection/life safety engineering experience

- Strong background in code consulting and performance-based design

- Solid understanding of the BC Building Code, BC Fire Code, NBC, and NFPA standards

- Ability to lead multiple projects and deliver high-quality work on tight timelines

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact directly with clients and stakeholders

- Experience working in a consultancy environment preferred
