Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We're hiring a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take the lead on HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for construction projects across BC. You’ll mentor junior team members, collaborate cross-functionally, and guide projects from concept to construction—all while ensuring top-quality delivery.

What You’ll Do:

- Lead mechanical design from schematics to construction-ready drawings

- Perform load calculations and develop system layouts (HVAC, plumbing, FP)

- Coordinate with consultants, clients, municipalities, and utilities

- Attend progress meetings, conduct field reviews, and manage tender specs

- Support continuous improvement and mentor junior designers

Top 5 Must-Haves:

- 5+ years of mechanical design experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection

- Robust AutoCAD skills (Revit is a bonus)





- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

- Familiar with BC Building Code, Vancouver by-laws, ASHRAE, CSA, NFPA

- P.Eng. or AScT (or eligible)

Nice to Have:

- LEED® AP or other green building credentials

- Experience with fee proposals and contract admin

- Strong client-facing communication skills

- Prior collaboration with construction teams on D&B; projects

- Ability to prepare training and mentor junior staff
