- Lead the design ofcutting-edgesolutionsusing a first-principles approach - Gather design constraints and produce complex 3D models based on a knowledge of pneumatics, motion (motor control & drives), materials, and manufacturing processes - Prepare manufacturing drawings, specifications, and release bills of materials; own all aspects of the product design phase - Design systems for compliance to applicable standards (i.e., CSA, ISO,
ANSI, OSHA, customer specific) - Establish robust supply chains and manage low-cost manufacturing partnerships - Confer with colleagues, suppliers, contractors, customers, and relevant authorities to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and createappropriate technicaldocumentation, including machine manuals - Set goals, develop, andmaintainequipment build schedules for project launches - Research and evaluate mechanical products for application feasibility by applying knowledge of engineering principles for our continual product development - Support equipment installations, operation, maintenance, and repairs to ensure that machinery is installed and functioning according to intended specifications - Lead andparticipatein mechanical design reviews - Other duties as assigned What you'll need to succeed:
- Bachelor or Master’sdegree inengineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics); P.Eng. designationrequired - 5+ years of robotic systems integration experiencein a custom automation environment - Practical hands-on mechanical aptitude and a sincere passion for engineering, robotics,
and automation - Extensive experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD - A portfolio of automation projects in which you made significant contributions - A willingness toparticipatein all technical areas of the business as needed to solve complex problems and achieve business impact - The capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously andmaintaintiming deadlines - Experience in mentoring junior engineers and designers - Ability toworkonsiteat ourCalgaryfactory - Ability to travel internationally - A relentless pursuit of learning and growing in the rapidly changing world of industrial automation Benefits: Competitive salary:we believe in data-driven, equitable compensation decisions.
