Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a fulltime permanent Senior Rock Mechanics Laboratory Technician to join our team in Burlington, ON.

As a senior rock mechanics laboratory technician, duties will include:

Key Responsibilities

- Technical review of laboratory results and reports
- Conducting high-end, detailed rock mechanics testing including Post Peak Analysis
- Technical oversight of laboratory test performance
- Mentoring and development of the rock mechanics team
- Business Development and Client Management

Qualifications

- Previous laboratory hands-on experience with geo-materials 10+ years
- High proficiency in learning to use advanced technology
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Meticulous attention to detail – this work is used to design mines and mine infrastructure and the importance of proper execution of each task cannot be overstated.
- Conscientious, organized, self-motivated
- Willing to work extra hours, possibly on short notice, to meet strict project deadlines




- Geology/Earth Sciences College Diploma or Geological Engineering/Rock Mechanics degree and relevant work experience required
