The School of Social Sciences and Humanities at Renison University College (affiliated with the University of Waterloo) invites applications for a part-time/sessional lecturer opportunity in the Fall 2026 term.





The School of Social Sciences and Humanities is seeking an individual to teach the following course:

· SDS 331R Social Inequality, Social Justice, and Social Action (online)

· Fall 2026 (September to December 2026)

· Online (asynchronous)

Compensation: The salary paid per term is $8910 plus vacation pay, based on qualifications and experience.

Course description:

This course examines the hidden causes of inequality and associated social injustices. It provides a snapshot of main issues associated with up-to-date society and the evidence that ties them to persistent inequality and injustice. The course reviews not only the major types of inequality but also social and public policy responses to them.

Job duties include:

· Job duties include preparing and adhering to the academic course syllabus, facilitating the achievement of course learning objectives, grading student assignments, being available to meet with students outside of class hours, and submitting final grades.

· Applicants must have a PhD completed or near completion in Sociology, Social Work or a related social science field, experience as an educator, and practice experience in community or academic initiatives related to course themes.
