As a key member of team, they support the risk and portfolio management.The Senior Business Analyst, in addition to the responsibilities of a Business Analyst, will work on complex credit underwriting, have portfolio management responsibilities and be introduced to Account Manager behaviours to build their career skills.RoleIn addition to the duties outlined below, a Senior Business Analyst will also be responsible to:Provide support and due diligence analysis for larger, more complex credit requestsIndependently research, analyze and prepare credit applications for their manager(s) as directedIndependently manage a small portfolio of commercial borrowers including member contactInteract directly with members for purposes of gathering information and responding to member enquiriesPrepare more complex reports as requested by their manager(s)Assist with training less experienced Business AnalystsParticipate in community events and networking events to represent FirstOntarioEfficiently support the Account Manager,



Commercial Services or Credit Solutions in the preparing and presenting high-quality proposals by analyzing and conducting proper due diligence for medium to high complexity loan proposalsDevelop appropriate terms, pricing, conditions and covenants while ensuring thorough credit analysis, due diligence and sound account management practicesPrepare loan packages and, when necessary, negotiate with internal partners on structuring the deal to ensure compliance with policies and proceduresPrepare reports and assist with compliance related tasksPrepare credit analysis/memos including modelling of portfolio performance as well as financial modelling across a variety of asset classesAs directed, gather items required for the administration of commercial filesBe actively involved in adjudicating and reviewing of Commercial lending, risk, and rewardWork with your manager to meet annual review and risk management standards for the Commercial Portfolio including structuring transactionsDiligently complete detailed commercial reviews through the breakdown and analysis of financial statements and recommendations to mitigate any new or changing risksConcentrate on department goals and objectives, and portray a strong positive image to our members and the communityOver deliver on set targets and planned initiatives in the region by identifying new opportunities within the loan management and origination processConsider health & safety as a primary concern to ensure the overall well-being of your team and members Perform other duties we may need you to doRequired SkillsHave a sound business acumen which you built from the ground up with a post-secondary diploma or degree in business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experienceSenior Business Analyst: Have 2- 4 years of Commercial lending experience and/or commercial credit adjudication experience Utilize your understanding and/or experience in Real Estate Development and ConstructionBe well versed in the identification of risk and warning trends on Commercial Loans and CreditBe extremely knowledgeable about small business and commercial banking products and servicesInnately detail-oriented, analytical, and have an incredible passion for ensuring the accuracy of numerical data and cost-effective use of company budget dollarsBe well-versed in the world of customer serviceBe extremely comfortable using a computer, particularly MS OfficeBe quick to respond to requests for service from all of your membersBe aware of and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and proceduresBe willing to work flexible hours to accommodate business need, networking and community involvementThis role is hybrid in Hamilton, ON. This posting is for an existing vacancy.Salary Range: $69,931 to $96,155 annually.Compensation for this role reflects a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Those whose experience more closely aligns the role's requirements may be placed higher within the salary range.
