We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our NIOS Platform team in Burnaby Canada, reporting to senior manager of Engineering. You will play a critical role in setting goals for Infoblox’s next-gen DDI services, design Linux-based software, and develop container infrastructure.
Responsibilities include translating requirements into specifications, reviewing code, maintaining CI/CD tests, and working in an Agile/Scrum environment. You will also optimize software performance, collaborate with QA, handle customer escalations, and address security issues. You are the ideal candidate if you are eager to tackle various software issues and are an excellent problem solver.
Translate requirements from customers, program management, and other sources into functional and design specifications Review code submissions from other engineers and provide constructive feedback with the aim to keep a high bar for software quality Design and develop Linux-based software for on-premises appliances and virtual machines using C and Python technologies Develop and maintain unit and functional tests for Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment in a modern CI/CD workplace Work in an Agile/Scrum development methodology to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and test Benchmark, optimize, and fine-tune software performance Minimum 12 years of experience in software engineering or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree in computer science or equivalent Exceptional Linux systems programming background and knowledge of Linux kernel and OS internals In-depth working knowledge of make,
maintaining libraries, and dependencies for large projects In-depth working knowledge of Linux platform services, performance analysis, and kernel-level debugging using gdb and other tools A solid understanding of networking concepts, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP, IPv6, and IPv4 protocols Solid development and problem-solving skills are required Experience with analyzing security patch vulnerabilities for Linux-based systems Experience in microservices architecture and container-based software using Docker and other container technologies Contribute and participate in analyzing, providing root cause analysis, and solutions for NIOS issues Provide technical leadership for the core platform team We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a 401k with company match and generous paid time off to help you balance your life. The typical base salary range for this position based in the province of British Columbia is $129,000 – $190,000 plus a corporate bonus.
