POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic First Nation high school graduate to join our team as a Student Intern. This position offers a valuable opportunity to learn about office procedures, filing, and computer tasks in a professional environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform and assist with a wide variety of general office duties, including filing, data entry, and document management.

· Learn and perform various computer tasks, such as using office software and managing digital files.

· Support staff with day-to-day administrative tasks.

· Participate in team meetings and contribute to projects as needed.

· Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

· Handle printing, faxing, copying filing and email/messages.

Weekend Duties

· Assist weekend workers when students are on campus

· Provide support for some weekend events or activities

Other Duties

· Regular attendance and conduct at work as per the requirements of Oshki-Wenjack Policies and Procedures.

· Adhere to the Policies and Procedures as set by the Institute.

· Always maintain professionalism.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Specific Knowledge:

· Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, and Indigenous communities

· Exceptional writing skills to produce qualified workplace correspondence.

· Word formatting

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

· OneDrive

· Social media platforms

Skills and Attributes

· Takes initiative.





· Motivated and driven.

· Possess a professional and warm demeanor, with a track record of managing sensitive situations tactfully and diplomatically.

· Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

· Ability to solve problems

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Required

· Recent high school graduate

· Basic knowledge of computer applications (e.g. Microsoft office suite)

· A willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Job type: Internship (July 2025-March 2026)

Schedule

· 8-hour shift

· 1-hour unpaid lunch

· Day shift

· Monday to Friday

· In-person

· Travel may be required

Experience

· 1 year
