About Dixonville Rural Academy
Dixonville Rural Academy (DRA) is an Alberta public charter school serving Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in Dixonville, Alberta. DRA delivers an creative, vocation-based educational program inspired by agricultural literacy, project-based learning, rural leadership development, skilled trades exposure, and community partnership. The school is guided by a strong commitment to experiential learning, student well-being, and meaningful connections to rural culture and industry.
Position Overview The Dixonville Rural Academy is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Classroom Teacher to join its learning community. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction in a multi- grade classroom within a small rural school setting. The successful candidate will create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that supports students' academic, social, and emotional development, with instruction delivered through an agriculture literacy lens.
School Configuration
Each classroom is led by a certified teacher, fostering a multi-grade environment that emphasizes student-centered learning. Dixonville Rural Academy is organized as a K -12 school with Five multi-grade classrooms:
- Kindergarten
- Grade 1-3
- Grade 4-6
- Grade 7-9
- Grade 10-12
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is required
- Possession of a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate, or eligibility for certification in Alberta
- Strong instructional practice and effective classroom management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships
- A commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning
- A clear commitment to agriculture literacy and alignment with the school's agriculture- focused and community-centered philosophy.
- Ability to work effectively in a small, rural, multi-grade school setting
- Proven ability to collaborate and contribute positively to a team environment
Employment Conditions
