Description

This is a direct care position generally in a residential setting. This position provides assistance to clients at the direction of counseling staff. Will provide a wide variety of duties, to include significant interaction with clients in their efforts toward recovery.

Provides day-to-day delivery of services. Must bring strong dedication to developing and delivering quality care. Staff may perform a wide range of residential activities including overseeing day-to-day activities (cleaning, meal preparation, room searches).

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

The duties listed are characteristic of the type and level of work associated with this class. Individual positions may do all or some combination of the duties listed as well as other related duties.

- Assist clients per directives of counselors. May transport clients to appointments or group outings. Assist with general housekeeping duties and meal preparation. Provide support to treatment plan through social interaction with clients.
- May provide clerical duties such as scanning documents into electronic medical records system.
- Attends mandatory training to comply with company, state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Assists residents in personal self-management activities and life skills development.
- Monitor residents’ activity to ensure their personal welfare and safety.
- Chaperone residents as needed.
- Cooperates with treatment team to ensure each resident’s treatment plan is being successfully completed.
- Reviews, interprets, and completes resident support documentation to meet Lifeways and Oregon Administrative Rules and regulatory requirements.
- Assist or participate in provision of secure transport of residents to required appointments.
- Assist with meal preparation and clean up.
- Assist with facility cleanup to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for residents and staff.




- Assists or participates in the supervison of medication to residents under the guidance of nursing staff.
- Adheres to all HIPAA, Lifeways and Oregon Administrative Rules while providing care to the residents.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Experience in the areas of addictions and mental health and/or willingness to learn necessary knowledge. Must be skilled in oral and written communication. Must be able to climb up/down stairs multiple times a day. Must have High School Diploma or globally accepted GED. Must successfully pass background and substance abuse testing. Valid, current driver's license. Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Oregon Regulations require that recovering individuals be able to demonstrate continuous sobriety under nonresidential, independent living conditions for the immediate past two years.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

Possession or ability to obtain valid driver’s license. Successful completion of background check and drug screening.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the job. The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, or stand; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and ability to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, along with depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- Hazardous Conditions: Risk of verbal and physical threats from clients. Use of keyboard and computer monitor (repetitive hand motions and potential eye strain). Possible exposure to airborne pathogens.
- Working Conditions: The noise level in the work workplace is mild to moderate; 90% office-based, 10% field.
- Equipment / Materials Used: Common office machines including computer, printer, calculator, telephone equipment, tele-health system, copier, scanner, and facsimile. May drive your personal or Agency vehicle.
