Nature and Scope
Reporting to the Program Manager, this part time position is responsible for providing children with a protected and caring environment where they can learn and grow positively by participating in various recreational programs.
Responsibilities ⦠To participate in all aspects of youth programs while you are working your shift.
⦠To assist in planning and coordinating activities for the program you are leading that is appropriate to the age and skill level of the children in the programs.
⦠To be responsible for the safety and security of all participants in your care at all times.
⦠To maintain a positive attitude at all times ⦠To act in a supportive and professional manner when working with fellow staff members and children.
⦠To report to the Program Manager with any problems regarding participants and other staff members.
⦠To maintain confidentiality and discretion with the YMCA programs regarding children, members, and staff for the course of employment duties.
⦠To give active and loyal support to youth programs and its philosophy and objectives and abide by all youth program regulations.
⦠Adhere to all YMCA Child Protection policies and procedures.
Qualifications ⦠Standard First Aid & CPR ⦠Clear Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Check ⦠WHIMIS & Child Protection Training ⦠Aptitude for working with children or any related experience ⦠Experience working with preschool, children, or youth ⦠Background Courses in Education, Social Sciences, Early Childhood Education, or Recreation (preferred)
