Role Summary

Heli-One is the leader in rotor wing maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) with decades of expertise supporting a wide range of helicopters. Our global support network includes base maintenance; line maintenance; component and engine repair and overhaul; and Engineering and Design within our 500,000 square feet of international facilities in Vancouver, Canada; Stavanger, Norway; and Rzeszow, Poland.

Heli-One Canada is seeking a Base Maintenance Supervisor to lead day‑to‑day helicopter maintenance operations at our Vancouver Airport (YVR) facility.

In this key leadership role, you will oversee day‑to‑day helicopter maintenance activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations at the maintenance base. This position provides leadership to Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and support staff, ensures all maintenance is performed in accordance with regulatory requirements, and supports on‑time aircraft delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Oversight

- Provide direct supervision, guidance, and mentorship to AMEs, apprentices, and maintenance support personnel.




- Assign daily tasks, manage workloads, and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, effectively, on schedule, and on budget.
- Foster a positive safety culture and collaborative team workplace.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance reviews.

Maintenance Operations

- Coordinate, schedule, and oversee routine, unscheduled, and heavy maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Transport Canada regulations, company MPM, and manufacturer maintenance instructions.
- Review and sign off maintenance documentation where authorized.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and avionics issues and support resolution of recurring defects.

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

- Ensure accurate and timely completion of aircraft technical records, logbook entries, and work packages.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory, quality, and safety requirements.
- Support internal and external audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement processes.

Safety & Quality Assurance

- Promote and enforce adherence to the Safety Management System (SMS) and company safety policies.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and participate in hazard identification and reporting.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Resource & Inventory Management

- Coordinate with Materials/Stores to ensure availability of parts, tools, and consumables.
- Monitor equipment calibration, tooling requirements, and hangar resource planning.
- Support maintenance planning and forecasting for upcoming inspections and aircraft events.

Communication & Coordination

- Liaise with Customers, Planning, Safety and Compliance, OEMs and other departments.




- Provide daily progress updates and participate in operational meetings.
- Communicate maintenance status, delays, or issues affecting schedules.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

- Valid Transport Canada AME License (M1, M2, or both).
- Minimum 5–7 years of helicopter maintenance experience; supervisory or lead hand experience preferred.
- Experience with [Sikorsky S92, Airbus Helicopters 225, and 332, AW139, and Bell 412] is considered an asset.

Knowledge & Skills

- Strong knowledge of Transport Canada CARs, OEM manuals, and aircraft technical documentation.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure while maintaining safety and compliance.
- Proficient with maintenance tracking systems (AMOS).

Additional Requirements

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as required.
- Ability to travel as required for customer meetings, aircraft surveys, lead MRT teams.
- Physically able to perform maintenance duties in a hangar or field environment.
- Must meet company security clearance and background check requirements.
