Job Overview

We are hiring a QA Lab Technician / Laboratory Technician for a busy meat processing facility in Etobicoke, ON. The ideal candidate must have laboratory technician experience and HACCP knowledge. Experience in food manufacturing, meat processing, food safety, microbiology, or food laboratory testing is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

- Perform water activity, microbiological, allergen, chemical, and environmental testing.
- Conduct product, water, ingredient, and environmental sampling/swabbing.
- Perform sanitation chemical testing and equipment calibration.
- Maintain accurate laboratory, QA, and HACCP records.
- Support HACCP, GMP, food safety, and sanitation programs.
- Assist with product holds/releases and ingredient verification.
- Conduct environmental and room temperature monitoring.
- Complete Chain of Custody documentation and enter test results into spreadsheets.
- Assist with audits, inspections, and HACCP program reassessments.
- Report quality and food safety concerns promptly.




- Follow all laboratory, food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.

Requirements

- Previous Laboratory Technician experience is required.
- Hands-on HACCP experience or solid working knowledge of HACCP is required.
- Experience in food manufacturing or meat processing is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, GMP, sanitation, sampling, and laboratory testing.
- Technical Science, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related education is preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and documentation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a cold environment of approximately 4–10°C.
