Role: Mental Health & Addictions Case Coordinator Nurse (RN/RPN) – Youth Intensive Case Management Team, Powell River, BC.
Salary: CAD $41.42 to $55.91 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Intake, mental health assessment, outreach visits, treatment planning, crisis intervention, consultation, individual counseling, education, and support groups.
Location
- Powell River, BC.
Education & Experience
- Diploma in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
- Two (2) years recent related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health issues, or equivalent education, training and experience.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with BCCNM.
- Valid BC Driver's License; local area travel may require personal vehicle.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Broad knowledge of nursing theory, BCCNM standards, mental illness, addiction treatment, psychopharmacology, counseling and group facilitation, community resources, health care disciplines, adult education principles, legislation, and government policies.
- Ability to conduct mental health assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide crisis intervention.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with clients, families, colleagues, physicians, and other health care staff.
- Solid listening and information‑seeking skills enabling a cooperative approach to problem solving within a multidisciplinary setting.
- Ability to prioritize workload, work independently or collaboratively, work with diverse populations, adapt to change, solve problems, handle conflict, and provide leadership and direction.
- Operational use of related equipment and basic computer literacy including client care information systems, word processing, spreadsheets, Internet, and e‑mail.
