Job Description
Overview
Join AtkinsRéalis’ Reactor Core Physics team and contribute to the future of nuclear engineering and innovation. As a Junior Reactor Physicist, you will support the design of new CANDU nuclear power plants and the protected operation of existing domestic and international facilities. Working alongside experienced specialists, you will develop technical expertise while contributing to meaningful engineering projects that help shape the energy industry.
Your Role
Perform reactor physics analyses to support reactor design, operation, and safety activities. Prepare input data and execute reactor physics computer codes for assigned analyses. Collate and evaluate results from multiple technical studies. Document analytical work in technical notes and reports. Present technical findings and recommendations at meetings. Develop, adapt, and modify FORTRAN-based computer programs for specialized applications. Support project delivery while maintaining quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
About You
A Relevant honors degree from a university of recognized standing in Physics or Nuclear Engineering or equivalent; reactor physics experience and/or background is a strong asset. Proficiency in reactor physics, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or a related discipline. Proficiency in computer environments, with experience using Linux and Windows systems considered an asset. Proficiency in computer programming, particularly FORTRAN. Ability to communicate effectively through technical writing and presentations. Ability to work collaboratively, manage changing priorities, and demonstrate initiative in a team environment.
