- Construct, renovate, and repair residential homes and community buildings.
- Perform framing, drywall, flooring, roofing, siding, finishing carpentry, and cabinetry work.
- Install windows, doors, trim, and other building components.
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on community housing and facilities.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and materials used.
- Assist with project planning, estimating, and procurement of materials.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a protected and organized manner.
- Mentor apprentices and labourers as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- Valid Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter Certification.
- Minimum three (3) years of carpentry experience.
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods.
- Knowledge of Saskatchewan building codes and safety regulations.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a First Nation or Indigenous community.
- WHMIS Certification.
- Standard First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Experience with project estimating and construction management.
- Experience in housing maintenance and renovation programs.
