How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Package Gas Dispatcher will manage scheduling, drivers and the daily management of our Package Gas distribution workload of the team in Calgary. This position will report directly to the Logistics Supervisor. The individual is responsible for optimizing the distribution efficiency while minimizing costs and ensuring excellent service to internal and external customers while respecting transportation of dangerous goods and Transport Canada regulations. The dispatcher will also act as a Micro Bulk dispatcher when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer demand and ensure accuracy of the distribution plan which details customer needs, product and equipment availability, geographical position and delivery optimization using logistics KPIs.
- Review truck utilization according to maximal capacity.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure prompt customer service.
- Analyze consumption, usage patterns, location, customer trends and recommend supply mode based on logistics factors.
- Maintain master data accuracy in the system.
- Validate and confirm drivers’ operations (customer number, truck and trailer identification numbers, tank level, delivered product, mileage, driver’s name, etc.) and review trip performance to identify and correct inefficiencies.
- Review delivery routes and clusters regularly to optimize the distribution network.
- Promote and practice a safety culture at the office and Distribution Centre; attend safety meetings and encourage a safe working environment.
- Ship and receive shipments to and from customers as well as other branches.
- Audit and refine GMP protocols to guarantee regulatory compliance and quality control during medical product distribution.
Key Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- 1–4 years of experience in a related logistics domain (strong preference for experience in industrial gas, chemical manufacturing, or similar process‑driven industry).
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Computer proficiency: Google Suite, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), and specialized industrial databases.
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and statistical skills; basic finance and management principles.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Methodologies.
