Join Amazon's mission to become Earth's safest place to work! As a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist (WHSS) at Amazon's Belleville, Ontario fulfilment centre, you'll lead safety programs, conduct audits, investigate incidents, and build a proactive safety culture across the site.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead daily safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments
- Implement data-driven safety programs to prevent injuries
- Deliver engaging safety training to associates
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives in workplace safety
- Serve as a trusted safety advisor and advocate for associate wellbeing
- Foster a culture where safety is everyone's priority through coaching and communication
- Transform safety data into narratives that drive engagement and positive change
- Lift up to 49 lbs; stand/walk for up to 12 hours per shift
- Work flexible shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends
Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations,
specifically 29 CFR 1910
- Minimum 1 year in an EHS-related field, OR a bachelor's degree in an EHS-relevant field, OR 6 months in a safety-related role within Amazon
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity
- Experience maintaining confidentiality in security and/or personnel matters
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in worker's compensation case management
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety-related field
- Solid communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills
- Experience leading teams and conducting job hazard analyses
- Experience in emergency response; current First Aid and CPR certification
High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 1 year EHS experience or bachelor's degree in EHS field; knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
