Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite in Toronto | 12-month contract (possibility of extension or conversion)

A leading Canadian bank is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team. This is a hybrid role providing exposure to complex financial operations in the banking and insurance sectors, focusing on month-end close, complex reconciliations, and financial reporting .

Responsibilities

- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Perform complex reconciliations across multiple systems to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Analyze financial results and resolve discrepancies across platforms.
- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, operations, and technology to optimize workflows and processes.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance,



preferably in banking or insurance.
- CPA or CA designation (or in progress) required.
- Strong month-end close, journal entry, and reconciliation experience.
- Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis; Power BI experience is a plus.
- Exposure to ERP implementations or financial system projects is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly.
