This casual position is aimed at providing essential support to Indigenous students, promoting pride in their culture. You will offer cultural, language, and emotional guidance, and collaborate with teachers to meet academic and personal needs. Engaging with families and participating in school teams is vital, alongside submitting reports to track progress.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide cultural and emotional support to students
• Act as an Indigenous role model to inspire pride
• Collaborate with teachers on student needs
• Communicate effectively with families and guardians
• Advocate for student success and participation in teams
Requirements:
• Grade 12 completion (Dogwood Certificate)
• Two years of post-secondary Indigenous studies
• 6 months of relevant experience with Indigenous students
• Familiarity with local Indigenous communities
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a clean record
