Surrey Police Service is hiring a full time Telecommunications Operator 2 for its Operational Communications Centre. This role demands the handling of diverse communications tasks, including dispatching, call-taking, and providing critical information. The operator must prioritize incoming calls, maintain accurate records, and liaise with officers and external agencies under limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls accurately
• Dispatch police responses and ensure appropriate resource allocation
• Monitor the status and location of police units
• Maintain comprehensive records of all communications
• Train and assist other team members as needed
Requirements:
• Grade 12 completion with relevant telecommunications experience
• Minimum 12 months of dispatch training and experience
• Typing speed of 45 wpm required
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights
• Security clearance and RCMP Reliability Status necessary
