As an integral member of Wealth Management Services, the Will & Estate Consultant works with Investment Advisors to provide consulting services to their clients. These services are then implemented in coordination with clients' tax and legal professionals, enabling RBC advisors to deliver integrated wealth management typically reserved for affluent families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct client interview sessions and create comprehensive summary letters recapping advice discussed.
- Participate with advisors in client/prospect seminars and develop relationships with internal and external estate planning professionals.
- Stay current on pertinent legislation, policy, and risk‑management issues.
- Identify new business and referral opportunities for RBC Financial Group where appropriate.
- Facilitate seamless delivery of services across RBC Financial Group.
- Maintain and report accurate records of activities and results.
- Assist advisors in identifying appropriate opportunities.
- Coordinate follow‑up actions stemming from the interview process (e.g., internal/external consultants).
- Stay current on the business unit's strategy and client offerings.
Qualifications
Must have:
- Canadian Law Degree.
- Member of the Quebec Board of Notaries or a bar association from at least one Canadian province (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience and advanced knowledge of Canadian legislation, including wills, estate & trust administration, related tax rules,
and planning opportunities.
- Good knowledge of various insurance products as estate planning tools.
- Advanced knowledge of common‑law related to wills, estates and trusts.
- Valid driver’s license.
Nice to have:
