Job Description

As a Gas Compression Tech , you’ll put your skills into action by partnering directly with customers to keep their operations running at peak performance. You’ll troubleshoot and oversee repairs on a wide range of Caterpillar gas and diesel engines- both in the shop and out in the field - leveraging your technical knowledge to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on.

Your work will include:

- Field diagnosis and running repairs
- Large-scale overhauls and rebuilds
- Component replacements
- Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication

Qualifications

- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (Millwright and Automotive also accepted)
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful drivers abstract required for field positions
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Previous CAT general line experience including troubleshooting skills and a good understanding of CAT engine and powertrain components
- 2 years experience on gas engines and compressors
- 2 years experience operating a service truck
- Completion, or in the process of completing Finning S-level courses
- Team player will have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills




- Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills

Key Details

- Various options of location and shifts throughout Alberta and Northern BC
- Must be able and willing to travel to and from customer sites across our territory
- Tooled company truck supplied, hotel & per diem or camp when travelling
- A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respiratorwhere applicable

This is a unionized position. Union dues will be deducted from your pay upon hire. Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.
