Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Manager of Finance, Deputy Treasurer provides leadership of the accounting, financial reporting, and procurement functions for the City. Responsible for the external financial reporting including the audited financial statements and the financial information return (FIR) submission to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH). Develops and implements policies, processes and internal controls needed to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) standards. Oversees management of the City’s investment portfolio, debt programs, reserves, and accounts payable operations. Contributes to corporate financial strategies aligned with Council priorities and regulatory requirements. Designated backup to the Chief Financial Officer, as required.
Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) with University Degree in Business or closely related field.
The annual salary range for this non‑union position is $127,965 to $156,045 (Band Level 8). We offer a comprehensive benefits package and are an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) employer.
Monday to Friday – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week). Occasional evening hours required to attend Council, public meetings, etc.
