Position Summary
The Toronto Western Hospital Clinical Research Unitisseekingahighly motivatedClinicalResearch Coordinator III (ResearchNurse) tosupport a diverse portfolio of clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas.The Clinical Research CoordinatorIIIcollaborates with Investigators, research staff,andhealth care teamsfor the overall patient management and coordination ofa diverse portfolio of clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas.
Duties
- Providehigh-quality clinical caretoparticipants in clinical trials
- Coordinate study start-up activities, including preparation of Research Ethics Board applications
- Performclinical assessmentsincludingvital signs,ECGs,medical historycollection, medication reconciliation,andadministration ofinvestigational products andtreatments as per study protocol
- Monitor participant safety,identifyand report adverse events, and elevate clinical concerns to the Most Responsible Physicianas appropriate
- Coordination ofbiologicalsample collectionincluding processing andsupportingshipment
- Screen and recruitstudy participants,obtain informed consent, and support participant retention through the study
- Ensure compliance with ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Health Canada regulations, and UHN policies
- Maintainaccurateandtimelysource documentation andcase report forms
- Liaise with investigators, sponsors,monitors,and interdisciplinary teamsto support study conduct
- Provide operational support for the TWH Centre for Clinical Research, including management of clinical supplies,equipment,anddevelopment ofstandard operating procedures
- Registered Nurse (RN) in positive standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Bachelor’s degree, or recognized equivalentand current certificate of competence (licensure/registration) from a college legislated under the Regulated Health Professions Act
- Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience in Neurology preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability toutilizethe nursing process in planning,implementingand evaluating patient care
- Evidenceof good physical assessment, psychosocialassessmentand patient/family teaching skill
- Proficient in phlebotomy, IV insertion, and operation of infusion pumps
- Minimum1-2years ofclinical research experience preferred
- Training in ICH/GCP guidelines is an asset
- Knowledge ofTransportation of Dangerous Goodsregulations and basic laboratory procedures an asset
- Experience using Epic for clinical documentation and ordering isrequired
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to support a diverse portfolio of clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas
