Your primary objective is to grow Allied’s business in Western Canada. That means deepening relationships with existing customers, introducing new products to accounts that are not buying the full range, and converting competitive business where the opportunity exists.
This is an entrepreneurial role. We will support you with a strong product portfolio, manufacturer relationships and an experienced team at head office, but you need to be someone who takes ownership of their territory and drives results independently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Achieve territory gross profit targets on a quarterly and annual basis
- Manage and grow an existing portfolio of Western Canada EMS, fire and emergency services accounts
- Develop new accounts and expand Allied's presence across AB, BC and SK
- Grow total product spend per account by introducing new product categories and converting competitive business
- Spend a minimum of 3 days per week in the field, with emphasis on new and developing accounts
- Deliver product demonstrations and clinical presentations, including visits with manufacturer representatives
- Maintain organized account records and submit a weekly activity report to management
- Build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities sufficient to meet territory targets
- Represent Allied at industry events,
trade shows and EMS conferences in Western Canada
- Share market and competitive intelligence with the head office team on an ongoing basis
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Clinical background in paramedicine, EMS or emergency services is required
- Knowledge of the Western Canada EMS market and existing account relationships is considered a significant asset
- Prior medical device or medical supply sales experience is an asset; an equivalent combination of clinical experience and commercial aptitude will be considered
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships within the emergency services community
- Postsecondary education preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered
- Calgary based preferred; Vancouver or Edmonton will be considered for the right candidate
- Must reside in Western Canada
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Solid understanding of the pre-hospital and emergency services workplace
- Self directed and comfortable managing a large territory with limited day to day supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable presenting products in a clinical setting and conducting product demonstrations
- Willing to travel regularly across a large geographic territory with frequent overnight stays
- Professional and ethical in all dealings with customers, colleagues and manufacturer partners
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- $75,000 base salary plus variable compensation
- Monthly car allowance plus reimbursement of gas and travel expenses
