The Senior Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer is a hands‑on engineering role responsible for the design, configuration, customization, and ongoing support of Guidewire PolicyCenter solutions. This position requires deep technical expertise across the PolicyCenter product model, underwriting rules, UI configuration (PCF), Gosu development, data model extensions, forms, rating, validations, and full policy lifecycle behavior. It is a delivery‑focused and hands‑on role; candidates must have proven experience implementing and enhancing PolicyCenter in production environments and be capable of independently owning complex enhancements from design through deployment. This is not an architecture‑only or people‑management role.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and enhance Guidewire PolicyCenter solutions for new and existing insurance products.
- Perform hands‑on configuration and development in:
- Product Model
- UI (PCF)
- Data Model (entity extensions and schema updates)
- Configure coverages, exclusions, conditions, modifiers, and terms aligned with documented business requirements.
- Ensure all solutions follow Guidewire best practices and are production‑ready.
Product Model & Line of Business Support
- Create, modify, and retire products, coverages, and terms within the PolicyCenter product model.
- Support Personal Property lines of business, including:
- Accurate product configuration
- Policy lifecycle behaviors
- Endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and rewrites
- Deliver new product rollouts and enhancements without introducing functional regressions.
Underwriting Rules & Business Logic
- Develop, update, and retire underwriting issues based on underwriting guidelines.
- Implement underwriting rules, eligibility logic, and risk evaluation using Gosu.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
- Ensure underwriting logic behaves correctly across all policy lifecycle transactions.
UI, Data Model & Integrations
- Develop and maintain PolicyCenter UI using PCF and Gosu,
including screens, workflows, and page logic.
- Perform data model enhancements, including:
- Entity extensions
- Field additions
- Schema changes
- Ensure data integrity, validation, and consistency across PolicyCenter and integrated systems.
- Support system integrations by ensuring PolicyCenter configurations are integration‑ready.
Validations, Error Handling & Quality
- Implement validations and error‑handling logic to prevent invalid policy data entry.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve defects across development, test, and production environments.
- Support unit testing, system testing, defect resolution, and regression validation.
- Ensure releases contain no known high‑ or critical‑severity defects.
Forms & Documents
- Configure, maintain, and create PolicyCenter forms as required.
- Ensure forms comply with regulatory requirements and business rules.
- Verify proper triggering and usage throughout PolicyCenter workflows.
Rating Configuration
- Configure and maintain PolicyCenter rating, including:
- Rate tables
- Rating rules
- Calculation logic
- Support rating enhancements and defect resolution.
- Ensure rating outputs are accurate, consistent, and compliant with business requirements.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA teams, and Architects.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical solution planning.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior PolicyCenter developers.
- Own assigned deliverables end to end, from design through production deployment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 6 years of hands‑on Guidewire development experience, with significant focus on PolicyCenter.
- Demonstrated expertise in:
- Guidewire PolicyCenter
- Gosu
- PCF
- Guidewire Studio
- Product Model configuration
- Proven delivery experience with:
- Product model and coverage updates
- UI enhancements
- Data model extensions
- Underwriting rules and issues
- Validations and error handling
- Forms configuration and development
- Rating configuration
- Strong understanding of the insurance policy lifecycle, including issuance, endorsement, renewal, cancellation, and rewrite transactions.
- Ability to independently analyze requirements and deliver solutions with minimal oversight.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 6 years of Guidewire PolicyCenter experience supporting production implementations.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $44.85/hour - $70.07/hour. Our advantages include medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
