Responsibilities

- Perform preventive maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment
- Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient, and professional manner
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Work and manage workloads independently
- Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork and electronic documentation, including updating work orders in company systems
- Track work‑in‑process (WIP), labor time, and job status using digital tools
- Follow company digital workflows and maintain accurate electronic service records
- Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance, including being ready for work at the designated start time

Qualifications

- Fluent in French – written and spoken (mandatory)
- Two years of previous mechanical repair experience in forklift, auto, diesel, agricultural or heavy equipment repair
- Previous field experience is highly preferable
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Own personal tools




- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license to drive company vehicle
- Interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including daily use of a laptop
- Ability to enter and update work orders in a computerized system
- Comfortable using web‑based systems, email, and standard office tools
- Language Skills – Intermediate: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence
- Reasoning Ability – Intermediate: Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Physical Demands/Work Environment

- Stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands regularly; talk/hear frequently; sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl occasionally
- Bend frequently and work from a prone position (lying down while working underneath equipment) is required
- No special vision requirements
- Lift to 10 pounds regularly; lift 11 to 25 pounds frequently
- Work near moving mechanical parts frequently; frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions; occasionally wet or humid conditions (non-weather), extreme cold and heat (non-weather); risk of electrical shock, vibration
