The Diesel Mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs assigned on-/off-road and heavy‑duty equipment to ensure proper function, vehicle safety, and meet quality and performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair on- / off-road and heavy‑duty vehicles and equipment to meet preventative maintenance schedules, ensure proper function, and meet vehicle safety and quality goals.
- Assist with entering data in the mechanic’s maintenance and repair database (e.g., Web Fleet Assistant (WFA)).
- Communicate concerns or escalate unusually complex or persistent problems to the Foreman or other manager.
- Respond to service calls for equipment breakdowns when no supervisor is available to assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues arising from the Control Room, Dispatch, or Drivers.
Education
- Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics license.
- Valid “AZ/Class 1” class driver's license with a clear driver’s abstract that meets Purolator’s insurance requirements.
- 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
Skills
- Troubleshoot Mechanical and Collision Repairs.
- Service Reports and Logs Maintenance.
Language Requirement
Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
