Program Assistant (Casual)

Under the direction of the Program Manager/Program Coordinator, plans or participates in the planning of appropriate activities and providing high quality services to clients of the Day Program.

Qualifications

- Diploma in Social Work or Social Services, health sciences, activation, or equivalent
- Experience in geriatric rehabilitation is essential
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team player
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
- Recent certification in C.P.R.
- Recent satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen result
- Fluency in English and ability to converse in Chinese
- Must be able to work across different Yee Hong sites as needed
- Successful applicants must provide a recent satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check and medical clearance certificate.

Responsibilities

- Participates in the planning of appropriate activities for clients of the program
- Implements and ensures the smooth operation of the activities in a safe, hygienic, and supportive environment
- Provides timely crisis intervention or behaviour management and ensures clients’ physical, social and emotional needs are appropriately met
- Provides timely support, information, referral, placement, and outreach to clients and volunteers to meet their social, recreational, and developmental needs




- Works closely with clients and caregivers to ensure appropriate design and ongoing monitoring of the care plan/program plan
- Ensures appropriate assessment, placement, matching, and support for volunteers
- Provides effective guidance, training, and support to volunteers in the program
- Maintains up-to-date and accurate files, records, and statistics on the program
- Maintains accurate records of fees and expenditures
- Complies with risk management policy for health and safety and infection control
- Keeps up‑to‑date with developments and best practices in the field

Salary Range

$22.52 - $26.49 per hour.
