The Opportunity:
ML6 is partnering with a leading specialized healthcare organization in the search for a Healthcare Operations Manager to join its team in London, Ontario.
Operating 24/7, the organization provides emergency and specialized care through a multidisciplinary team of approximately 65 clinical, technical, and support professionals. The team is united by a commitment to delivering exceptional care, maintaining high service standards, and creating a positive experience for every client and patient.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Healthcare Operations Manager will oversee the daily performance and ongoing success of the organization’s emergency service. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the floor with their team, developing people, improving processes, and helping a fast-paced operation perform at its best.
Direct healthcare industry experience is not required. We are open to operational leaders from other fast-paced, service-driven environments who have demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Oversee the daily operations of the department, supporting a multidisciplinary team of clinical, technical, and support professionals.
- Provide direct leadership to technical and support staff, including coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
- Manage departmental scheduling, shift coverage, staffing requirements, overtime, and on-call requests within a 24/7 operating environment.
- Work closely with the General Manager, clinical leaders, and other department managers to maintain efficient workflows and consistently high standards of care and service.
- Serve as an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing ideas and feedback to organization-wide initiatives and operational decisions.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve departmental efficiency, communication, employee engagement, and overall performance.
- Lead performance reviews,
address workplace concerns, manage conflict, and support disciplinary processes when required.
- Assess staffing requirements and assist with the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and training of clinical, technical, and support team members.
- Partner with other leaders to develop programs that attract, train, and retain emerging talent.
- Coordinate and lead departmental, interdepartmental, and committee meetings.
- Follow up consistently on workload concerns, performance challenges, staffing issues, and other departmental priorities.
- Partner with the Client Service Manager to address client concerns and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Ensure the department operates in accordance with organizational policies, established protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular operational updates to the General Manager and complete administrative responsibilities as required.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
- Previous experience leading and developing teams within a fast-paced healthcare, emergency-response, hospitality, retail, service, manufacturing, or operational environment.
- Strong people-management skills, including experience with coaching, performance management, employee development, and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and support a multidisciplinary team within a demanding 24/7 operation.
- A hands-on leadership style and a willingness to remain visible, accessible, and actively involved with the team.
- Experience managing scheduling, staffing levels, workflow, and day-to-day operational priorities.
- Strong organizational, communication, decision-making, and time-management skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and remain composed when responding to urgent or emotionally sensitive situations.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, clinical professionals, technical teams, and support staff.
- A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of care, service, and operational excellence.
Compensation Range: $75,000 - $85,000.
