Position Overview

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining various stationary engines and mechanical equipment, such as boilers, pumps, compressors, motors, generators, and water or industrial waste treating equipment, and providing heat and other utility services for buildings or industrial processes, under minimum supervision.

What You Will Do

- Starts equipment, observes meters, gauges and warning lights, adjusts levels, valves and switch controls to obtain specific operating conditions and outputs.
- Analyzes temperatures, pressures, fuel flow and other instrument readings to ensure efficient operation or combustion.
- Compiles records of instrument readings, hours of operation, fuel consumption, and reports on equipment performance and serviceability.
- Performs daily maintenance of equipment, lubricates and makes minor repairs.
- Removes debris accumulated by tasks performed and maintains a clean, safe work environment.
- Provides on‑job training to other personnel in the power engineering trade.
- Assists with other maintenance tasks as required.
- Attends upgrading training for trade or personal development.

What You Will Bring





- Graduate of a recognized Power Engineer Technology program.
- Possess a minimum Fourth‑Class Ticket issued by the Department of Labour.
- Knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration background.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Workplace policies.
- Focus on personal safety and the safety of others, fully complying with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area.
- Eligible to meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian security clearances.
