About Our Client
Our client is a growing and well-established design-build construction firm with a strong reputation for delivering complex construction projects across Ontario.
Job Description
- Lead and promote a proactive safety culture across the project site.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with OHSA regulations, company policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and worker orientations.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and compliance reporting.
- Monitor subcontractor adherence to site safety standards.
- Support the Site Superintendent with day-to-day construction activities.
- Coordinate subcontractor schedules, deliveries, and site logistics.
- Track project progress and assist with maintaining construction schedules.
- Maintain site documentation including daily reports, deficiency logs, inspections, and permits.
- Assist in quality control and ensure work is completed according to project specifications.
- Liaise with project managers, consultants, trades,
and site personnel to ensure effective communication and workflow.
- Help identify and resolve site issues to maintain productivity and project milestones.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Safety/Site Coordinator should have:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a construction safety, site coordinator, or field administration role.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation and construction best practices.
- Experience working on ICI, institutional, healthcare, residential, or large-scale mixed-use construction projects is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction documentation systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with trades, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to the project site daily.
- Current Working at Heights and WHMIS.
