Our client, a well-established organization within the Canadian insurance is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their team in Burlington, ON. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA-designated accounting professional with strong IFRS experience who enjoys working independently and partnering closely with senior leadership. This hybrid role requires 3 days per week in-office and offers broad exposure across financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and insurance operations.

Compensation & Advantages

- Salary: $95K to $120K Base Salary

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Lead month-end/quarter-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting processes
- Prepare financial materials and analysis for senior leadership and Board meetings
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
- Prepare federal and provincial tax returns and support audits and regulatory reporting




- Prepare management reporting packages for brokerage operations
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies
- Support financial planning, forecasting, and various finance-related projects
- Partner with senior leadership and business stakeholders on financial matters

Qualifications

- CPA designation required/preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong technical accounting experience with IFRS and financial statement preparation
- IFRS 17 experience considered a strong asset
- Insurance or insurance brokerage experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Applied Systems or another Broker Management System considered an asset
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with AI tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a process-improvement mindset
