Position Summary
The Lead Pastor serves as the primary spiritual leader of the congregation, equipping God’s people to carry out works of service (Ephesians 4:11–13). The congregational governance operates within a membership sanctioned complementarian perspective.
Key Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
- Work alongside current ministry leaders to create intentional pathways for spiritual growth within the church family
- Incorporate a variety of discipleship environments, including large group gatherings, small groups, events, and family-based resources
- Encourage and equip families to serve beyond the church and engage meaningfully in the broader community
Preaching & Teaching
- Provide consistent, biblically grounded preaching
- Lead baptism and membership instruction
- Oversee and contribute to ongoing teaching ministries within the church
Leadership & Administration
- Collaborate with the Board of Elders to set ministry direction and overall vision
- Collaborate with ministry leaders, assist in mentorship of volunteers to grow in spiritual gifting
- Provide oversight for church staff and volunteers
- Coordinate worship services in partnership with worship leaders
- Stay informed on trends in family ministry, especially in engaging younger generations
- Provide visionary leadership to ministry teams
- Represent the church at District forums and local ministerial associations
Pastoral Care
- Model care, compassion and shepherding in a multi-generational congregation
- Help cultivate a culture of care
- Create opportunities for connection and community
- Participate in pastoral visitation including hospital and long-term care
- Engage compassionately with transient individuals
- Provide scripturally grounded counsel in real life environments
Mission & Outreach
- Champion local and global missions
- Be active in the community
- Collaborate with local ministry partners
Qualifications
Spiritual & Personal
- A clear calling to ministry
- Demonstrated gifting in preaching, teaching, leadership, discipleship, and hospitality
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ, modelling essentials of prayer and spiritual growth
- A life marked by integrity and spiritual maturity, grounded in conviction to Biblical truth
- Demonstrates scripturally based family life priorities
- An encourager living out humility
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in theology or ministry
- Candidates with previous positive pastoral experience preferred
- Eligible for licensing with The Alliance Canada
- Willing to complete ordination
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
Expectations & Accountability
- Reports to the Board of Elders and District Superintendent
- Commits to ongoing development towards personal growth in ministry education and potential creative ministry approaches

Compensation & Perks
Salary commensurate with education and experience according to Midwest District guidelines.
