With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada’s largest beef processors. Our main processing facility in Brooks, Alberta produces a wide range of beef products shipped across Canada and worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as provided by the Employer.
- Work in a variety of environments including wet, humid, cold, hot, inside or outside.
- Work with animal blood and various parts/contents of a butchered animal.
- Transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials throughout the plant and warehouse manually or with powered equipment.
- Remove filled containers from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers.
- Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines or mobile tank trucks.
- Sanitize work areas and equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- 1–6 months of full‑time work experience in a physically demanding job similar to the food and beverage processing industry.
- Basic English skills.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
- Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads.
- Physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail.
- Hand‑eye coordination, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling.
- Work site workplace: noisy, odors, hot, cold/refrigerated.
Compensation
Competitive starting wages of $23.35 to $29.20 per hour, 40.00 hours per week as per collective agreement.
