Overview

At Rebel, we’re reinventing ourselves. We were early adopters of cloud technology (AWS since 2016) and continue to evolve our infrastructure. We seek a proactive, hands-on system administrator to support our live production environment and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

- Provide second-level support for websites, applications, and email services.
- Handle occasional after-hours incidents (about 1–2 per week).
- Maintain and improve hosting platforms like Plesk, Managed WordPress, Virtuozzo VPS.
- Own and optimize infrastructure including AWS, Ghost, etc.
- Support customer migrations and monitor system performance.
- Troubleshoot issues, resolve them efficiently, and monitor costs.
- Administer Linux/Unix and Windows systems.
- Manage databases such as MSSQL and MySQL.
- Develop scripts using Bash, Python, Perl, or JavaScript.
- Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools like AWS OpsWorks.
- Contribute to process improvements and documentation.

Qualifications





- Solid systems administration skills with a focus on scalable infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSL, firewalls, load balancers.
- 5+ years in DevOps or sysadmin roles in Linux and Windows environments.
- Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, ELB, EBS, S3, RDS, Route53).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and CI/CD practices.
- Focus on performance, optimization, and reliability.
- Collaborative attitude and willingness to support team members.
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
