Year Round Operator, Highway Maintenance (Class 1/3)

We are offering year‑round employment opportunities in highway maintenance across Alberta. This role requires a Class 1, 2, or 3 driver’s licence and involves maintaining provincial highways, operating heavy equipment, and performing seasonal maintenance tasks.

Essential Responsibilities

- Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as needed.
- Maintain Alberta Provincial Highways year‑round, including assisting with Laborer duties such as crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge and signage cleaning, and hazard remediation.
- Work outside in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

- Successful completion of pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Class 1, 2, or 3 driver’s licence with air endorsement.
- Clear 3‑year driver’s abstract.
- Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a solid asset.

Work Conditions

- Shift work, on‑call, and night shift may be required based on weather patterns.

Rates & Premiums

- Base hourly rate ranges from $26.50 to $31.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Premiums of $8 per hour for winter maintenance operations.
- Premiums of $14 per hour for winter operations as a Class 1 operator while operating the tow plow unit.
