Day in the life of a Product Manager at Esri Canada:
- Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for CommunityMaps and NG9-1-1 geospatial infrastructure, ensuring alignment with national geospatial, public safety, and emergency response priorities.
- Plan and lead execution of multiple product initiatives, coordinating cross‑functional teams to deliver aligned outcomes.
- Drive improvements in data quality, standards, governance, and readiness across Community Maps, NG9-1-1, and related national geospatial products.
- Develop and implement strategies to strengthen municipal, provincial, territorial, and public safety contributor ecosystems, and expand product value for Community Maps and NG9-1-1 use cases.
- Collaborate with technical, sales, and program teams to advance product goals and ensure coordinated delivery.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback, usage data, partner requirements, and industry trends to inform product enhancements, NG9-1-1 readiness, and long‑term product direction.
- Support product messaging, demonstrations, documentation, and enablement activities to drive awareness, adoption, and effective use of Community Maps and NG9-1-1 geospatial infrastructure.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement, and implement actions to support successful delivery.
What you bring to the team:
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Geography, GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in GIS, geospatial data management, public safety geospatial workflows, or product management.
- Experience working with the ArcGIS platform (such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or ArcGIS Enterprise).
- Experience leading cross‑functional or multi‑stakeholder initiatives involving municipal, public safety,
or national geospatial data contributors.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute product strategies and roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
- Proven ability to coordinate and align multiple stakeholders, balancing competing priorities to support successful product delivery.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence and build relationships with partners and customers.
- Demonstrated understanding of geospatial data standards, governance, addressing, road network data, and public safety or NG9-1-1 operating environments.
- Knowledge of NG9-1-1 data requirements, civic addressing practices, road centreline datasets, or emergency response geospatial workflows is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey technical and business concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to prioritize work, manage ambiguity, and adapt to evolving product and business needs.
- Bilingual proficiency (English / French) is considered an asset.
