CONTROLLER – MULTI-UNIT RETAILER Toronto, OntarioFull-time, 100 percent on-site. This is not a hybrid or remote position COMPENSATION $90K to $110K, commensurate with experience. Plus discretionary yearly bonus. THE OPPORTUNITY A well-established retailer with its Head Office in Toronto is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Controller to join its finance team. The organization employs more than 200 people and operates through multiple retail locations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, payroll, and business analysis across the organization’s locations. This is a hands-on position requiring strong accounting capabilities, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and direct experience processing and reviewing payroll. The successful candidate will also supervise an accounts payable employee and work collaboratively with operations, management, and other members of the accounting team.



The position is particularly suited to a resourceful accounting professional who enjoys combining detailed financial work with analysis, reporting, process improvement, and business support in a multi-location workplace. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare monthly financial reports, management dashboards, and performance analyses Develop and maintain annual budgets, financial forecasts, cash-flow projections, and financial models Analyze financial results and identify important trends, risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention Present findings and practical recommendations to the Chief Financial Officer and other members of management Monitor actual results against budgets and forecasts Investigate significant variances and support cost-control and optimization initiatives Assist with monthly and year-end financial close activities Prepare and review
