At MistyWest, the Mechanical Engineers have the ability to conceptualize and design mechanical parts and systems. They work closely with a multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, and designers to complete both product development and research tasks in a variety of industries and market segments.
This role requires experience delivering projects from drafting boards to store shelves. The candidate has seen designs go completely sideways and are wiser for it. They have interfaced with contract manufacturers and are familiar with the NPI process.
PCB and component integration into enclosures; specifying custom cables, connectors & routing; custom battery terminal interface
Electronics enclosure design: thermal management, sealing, cable glands, robustness, lightweighting
DFM/DFA for 1000 units/year
Overseas manufacturing vendor communication
Thorough design documentation for effective handoff to contract manufacturer
Wearables / soft goods / backpack design & integration [very-nice-to-have]
