Lotus Kitchen & Bar is a modern Asian fusion restaurant located in downtown Halifax. Our menu focuses on East Asian flavours, including noodle dishes, stir-fry, small plates, creative cocktails, and fresh beverages.
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Cook / Wok Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is a good fit for someone who takes pride in consistent food quality, works well with a team, and can stay organized during a busy service.
Position: Cook / Wok Cook
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
Operate the wok station and hot line equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items
Work closely with the kitchen team to keep service smooth during busy hours
Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards
Keep workstations clean, organized, and ready for service
Assist with prep work, restocking, and inventory when required
Requirements:
Previous kitchen, line cook, or wok cooking experience preferred
Experience with Asian cuisine, stir-fry, or high-heat cooking is an asset
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen workplace
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Reliable, responsible, and able to follow instructions
Food Handler Certification is an asset
