Job Summary

Shaw's is rapidly expanding and looking for new members to join our team, we are currently looking to add 3 welders/fabricators. Position consists of 12 hour shifts,14 on 14 off with a day and night rotations. Positions are located in Fort McMurray at our shop located just 10 min south of town or running our service rigs on our customers sites as required. LOA of an additional $5.00/hour for every hour worked is included as well.

Responsibilities and Duties

Welding on mining equipment as a field service employee and/or in the shop as required
Proficient use of all welding operations including but not limited to SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, MCAW, OXY/Fuel cutting, Air Arc gouging in all positions.
Perform maintenance and repair on Mining equipment at our shop or in the field at our client locations
Fabricate various mining and structural components as required
Maintain high quality of work
Reading and interpretation of blueprints
Maintain a clean, orderly and protected work setting at all times




Ensuring the safety of both you and co-workers
Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

Certified Journeyperson qualified to work in the province of Alberta
3 years minimum welding experience
CWB current FCAW, SMAW
Must have no restrictions for access for any mine site
Experience in repair of mine equipment including trucks, shovels, graders and dozers
Experience in fabrication and fitting up based off of drawings and instructions
Ability to work with minimal supervision, and experienced in working in field and shop environments
NDT or CWB certification or experience is an asset
Heat treatment experience an asset
Safety courses
Valid Alberta Driver’s License

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: $60.00 per hour
