Mechanical Assembler / Millwright – Custom Machinery

Pay: $28.00/hour
Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary with Robust Potential for Permanent Employment

We are looking for a Millwright or experienced Mechanical Assembler to build custom industrial machinery for a leading manufacturer in Richmond.

Important: This is a machine-building/assembly role — NOT primarily a maintenance or repair position.

We need someone who enjoys building machinery from the ground up, working from drawings, fitting and aligning components, and assembling complete mechanical systems.

What You'll Do
Assemble custom machinery, equipment, and mechanical sub-assemblies
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, BOMs, and assembly drawings
Install, fit, align, and adjust mechanical components
Work with bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatics, and other mechanical systems
Use hand and power tools and precision measuring equipment
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during assembly
Work closely with engineering and production teams

What We're Looking For
Experience as a Millwright, Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, or similar
Hands-on experience building and assembling industrial machinery




Solid ability to read mechanical drawings and BOMs
Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical fitting/alignment skills
Experience using hand and power tools
Millwright certification or mechanical trade background is an asset
Experience with custom machinery, automation, conveyors, or industrial equipment is an asset
