District Bar Restaurant is a premium casual gastro lounge with a scratch kitchen serving the busy stadium, entertainment district and Yaletown community. Serving lunch, dinner and brunch on weekends we are hiring a full time Cook 1 and Cook 2 .
Job Summary
Assisting Head Chef in preparation and service of all meals
Working independently and with team on line (garde manger, fryer, grill, entree)
Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety regulations and sanitation standards
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment throughout shifts
Serve dishes promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours
Follow all food safety guidelines and proper storage procedures for ingredients and leftovers
Support other kitchen staff as needed during service periods
Qualifications
Three (3) years previous experience in restaurant kitchen workplace
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Solid understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings as required
Passion for delivering high-quality meals and exceptional customer service
