Job Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Recreation, the Skating Instructor works with participants of all ages to deliver secure, engaging, and inclusive skating programs. The successful candidate delivers excellent customer service, promotes a safe and inclusive workplace, and works collaboratively with the Recreation team to ensure a positive and enjoyable skating experience for all participants.

Responsibilities
Interacting with children and adults to create an exceptional customer experience
Monitor ice to promote skater safety and ensure compliance with facility rules and expected conduct
Utilizing your solid organizational skills to plan and teach structured skating lessons, prepare evaluation sheets, write progress cards etc.
Set up equipment needed for lessons.

Qualifications




Demonstrate proficient skating abilities and a thorough knowledge of ice-skating skills
Demonstrate effective leadership skills
Experience working with children
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants, volunteers, staff, and the public
Have some experience in providing skate instruction
Must possess a valid Standard First Aid Level C or willing to obtain upon request
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
NCCP Coaching Certificate is an asset
Position will include working evenings and weekends.

Pay: $25.57-$31.99 per hour
